Be Careful Who Celebrates You by Marion Rassek

Marion Rassek, ICAL member in Poland says:

This is one of the saddest truths about life.

Not everyone who praises you is wise.
Not everyone who supports you is helping you.
Sometimes the loudest admiration comes from people who are just as lost — or even more lost — than the person they admire.

That is why applause should never become your compass.

A foolish person feels powerful when surrounded by people who never question him. He mistakes blind admiration for greatness. He begins to believe he is right simply because others clap for him. But being admired by fools does not make a man wise. It only makes his delusion stronger.

Real growth does not come from people who worship you.
It comes from people who challenge you, correct you, and force you to think deeper.

Be careful who celebrates you.
Be careful whose approval makes you feel important.
Because if the people around you are empty, their praise will also be empty.

Wisdom is not proven by how many people admire you.
It is proven by the quality of your mind, your character, and your ability to stay humble even when others praise you.

Sometimes the most dangerous crowd is the one that makes a fool feel like a king.
