In memory of Charles Simpson

Today, we honor the life of Charles Simpson, who passed away on February 14, 2024, at age 86. In the photo, from left to right, Apostle Simpson is on the far left in the grey slacks. Next to him is Don Lyon, John P. Kelly, Bill Hamon, and Mel Davis; also not showing in the photo is Charles Green.

The photo was taken at the 2017 ICAL Global Gathering called The 3rd Reformation, recognizing 500 years since Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the Whittenburg church door in 1517.

The photo shows apostolic generals who led or are leading movements within the church. Sadly, only two of them are still standing since that moment in 2017; Bill Hamon and John Kelly are still warring a warfare here on earth!

Just before this photo, they were speaking together in front of the ICAL gathering, discussing the future, the past, our various theological differences, arguments, and reconciliations of their different relationships with one another. It was done deliberately to show how present apostolic leaders could navigate through the same waters of experiences and relationships.

Apostle Simpson was a gifted teacher, progenitor, and leader in the Charismatic Movement. Many spirit-filled believers in many denominations were touched and influenced by Simpson’s teachings.

We must give honor where honor is due this day and celebrate the home-going of one of the pioneers and patriarchs of the charismatic movement.

Simpson was a true general of the faith!
