Welcome Sri Lanka Coalition by Barbara Wentroble

August 29, 2019 was an exciting, historic day in Columbo, Sri Lanka! A new beginning was experienced in the prophetic year of birthing!

God birthed SLCAL (Sri Lanka Coalition of Apostolic Leaders) for a nation in desperate need for powerful apostolic leaders to arise and shift their nation.

The attention of the world was on Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019. Three churches in Sri Lanka and three luxury hotels in the commercial capital Colombo were targeted in a series of coordinated terrorist suicide bombings. Later that day, smaller explosions occurred in the suburbs of Colombo, a housing complex in Dematagoda and a guest house in Dehiwala. 259 were killed and over 500 injured. Christians and tourists were targeted in the horrific attacks. Tourism is one of the top revenue producers for the nation.

Sri Lanka has endured many other difficult days. They experienced civil war for over 27 years. Deceptive tactics are currently occurring in the Body of Christ. Poverty and corruption continue to plague the nation. But God!

Apostle John Kelly sent me [Barbara Wentroble] as an Ambassador to Sri Lanka. My role was to present ICAL to apostolic leaders. You could sense the hope rising in these leaders as I presented the vision, mission and purpose of ICAL.

Later, I presented the opportunity for the leaders to become members of SLCAL. Over half of the leaders turned in membership forms before the end of the meeting. Everyone excitedly expressed their appreciation to have an opportunity to unite and be part of transforming their nation.

I appointed Woodrow Blok as Convenor for SLCAL. He has built a kingdom ministry in that nation for the past twenty years.

He is founder and overseer for Overcomers Church, Shepherd’s Heart Children’s Home, Oasis Apostolic Network, Harvest Leadership Institute, and a training center for equipping people with computer skills for better job opportunities. Woodrow and spouse Melanie have raised a powerful team of leaders that are affecting the nation.

What a joy to see apostolic leaders positioning themselves to advance God’s purposes in their nation!  My team included Eileen Berglund from Wisconsin and Larry and Patti King from Port Arthur, Texas.

We will continue assisting the advancing of God’s Kingdom in Sri Lanka. I have a firm belief that out of devastation, restoration comes as SLCAL moves forward!
