Phil Nordin, Convenor for CCAL (Canadian Coalition of Apostolic Leaders) submitted the following report:
On Tuesday May 8th, members of the National Council of CCAL were privileged to attend the National Prayer Breakfast at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa, ON. The breakfast was attended by many dignitaries including the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.
The message that was presented to the 800+ guests at the breakfast was nothing short of brilliant. We will be forwarding this exceptional message to our membership as soon as it is available. This message of freedom deserves to be played to EVERY church in Canada.
Following the breakfast some of our members were privileged to meet privately with Honorable Andrew Scheer and present papers on issues of concern to Canadians including:
- Education: - Dave Kalamen
- Parental Rights: Rev. Mel Mullen
- Freedom of Speech: Dr. Len Zoeteman
- A Positive Environment for Business: Mike Bolton
- Office of Religious Freedom: Rev Barry Boucher.
We are pleased to report that the Minister received us warmly and listened to our concerns and addressed them very favourably. We sensed both his concern and his desire to address these issues as he is able - (within the boundaries of his office)
The meeting concluded with prayer for the minister by Rev. Gary Carter as follows:
“...we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
There’s a battle going on for our foundational core values and this is re-defining the identity of our nation. We believe the battle is both spiritual and natural. Isa. 59:“...When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19 NKJV God uses gatekeepers and we believe this is not just your job but your calling. “...having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone,” Ephesians 2:20 NKJV
The church has been built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets. We represent a spiritual governmental authority which carries a responsibility before God for our nation. We are here today to stand by your side like Aaron and Hur stood with Moses. We ask Gods blessing to continue to be upon you and declare a spiritual governmental blessing over you! As a spiritual government of God, we recognize the hand of God upon your life. We affirm” your calling and declare increased favour in the nation. We ask for wisdom from God for our nation and the nations beyond our borders. We make a commitment to stand with you as fellow gatekeepers to see God keep our land glorious and free! We, the Canadian Coalition of Apostolic Leaders bless you today in Jesus Name. Amen
